The economic restructuring, the rapid development of science and technology, and the acceleration of economic globalization in China provided huge development opportunities for the certified public accountants (CPA) in our country while putting forward stern challengees to the CPA profession. The CPAs have come into being in China shortly, and there are many problems exist in this profession. It is therefore necessary to frame a long-term planning, to improve and perfect the practice standards and relevant regulations, to implement the scale operation of CPA firms, to strengthen training of accountants, and to develop a diversified management, so as to create good external conditions for the development of CPAs in China. By analyzing the present development situation and statistical data, this article made an attempt to find out the problems existing in the development of CPAs in our country and proposed a way for the development and planning of the CPA profession.
