不行,两个都不能用.我和tmlyf200的意见一致.
可以直接说 “Although this matter sounds strange,it is true.”
“It is true”是独立的整句,“although this matter sounds strange”是另加形容.
要么就不要用 “although”而用 yet 或 but.
“This matter sounds strange,but it is true.”
这样写主要是说 “this matter sounds strange”,“but it is true”是额外的形容.
在外国学英语的可能都觉得although...but...和 although...yet...都别扭的不得了.但是我用文档试了一下,although...yet...并未显示为错误.
参考了另一个知道后,我决定改变我的回答.听下面高人的解释吧：

表示“虽然”时,根据英语的习惯,在后面不能使用连词 but.
但可以与一些副词连用,如有时 although 可与 yet,still,nevertheless 等副词(或该词在句子中起副词作用时）连用.
