您可以这样想：
主语应当跟主语相比较,而不是主语跟宾语相比较.
比如说：您赚的钱比我多.You earn more money than I do.
而不是说：您赚的钱比我的钱多.You earn more money than the money I earn.这就犯了主语跟宾语相比的毛病.
上述的sat题目也是同样道理.河应当与河相比较,因为河是主语,河可以承载水量,水是被承载的,是宾语.
以后遇到这样的题,不用发懵,只要记住一个原则就可以了,八个字：
主语跟主语相比较.
（我这里说的“主语”不是严格语法意义上的主语,而是指发出动作的主体）
