如果是专有名词构成的公园,就不加定冠词,如： Beihai Park. Beihai 就是一个专有名词,而且这个名词在字典中是查不到的.
如果是普通名词构成的公园,就要加定冠词,所谓普通名词,说得浅显点就是,你打开字典一看,有这个单词,而且还是小写,现在,你人为要大写它,就要加定冠词.你说的people 就是一例.又如：the Great Hall of the People.
