Some people think all students should learn a foreign. Others believe that students should not learn a foreign language if she or he does not have the talent for it. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. 有人认为所有学生都该学外语, 其他人则认为没天赋的可以不学DG
With the irresistible development of globalization, mastering a foreign language ,in present-day, is essential to some individuals in certain fields. But I do not believe that it is necessary for every student to learn a foreign language.
There are several reasons to believe that the command of a second language has become a necessity for students studying in certain fields, such as international economics, computer science and electronic engineering etc. To be a successful electronic engineer ,for example, requires the students to get the information about the latest inventions and high quality thesises in the field ,otherwise they will be left behind by the development of the whole industry because it has being upgraded on a daily basis. However ,most of these information are represented in English ,so those whose first language is not English should take English as their compulsory course .what’s more, learn a foreign language is a process to understand another culture ,which means students not only should learn the vocabulary and grammar of the language itself ,but also need to know the natives’ traditions and ways of thinking, which may boarden their horizons and enrich their experiences about life.
But for a student whose major has nothing to do with foreigners and foreign cultures do not need to learn an extra language. When these students graduate from school ,they are more likely to work for some companies and institutions which just serve the domestic markets and native population. Therefore it is a wise decision for them to spend more time on their real interests , practical skills and social activities which will benefit them more in their future careers. Meanwhile learning a second language is a extremely tough period for the students who do not have the aptitude of language learning . If they continue studying a language ,these student will just waste their own precious time and consequently acquire nothing.
So I suggest that students should be about their own interests and inherent talents which is essential to decide whether they should learn a foreign language, at the same time ,educational institutions have the obligtion to give their students the freedom to pursue their real interests and natural strength.

With the irresistible development of globalization, teaching a foreign language, in present-day, has been prevalent in schooling. Even though some people state that only talented student should learn a foreign language, I suggest that a foreign language is one of the basic accomplishments for every student to be processed.
It is believed that the command of a second language has become a necessity for students to acquire adequate knowledge. To be a successful electronic engineer, for example, requires the students to get the information about the latest inventions and high quality thesis in the field, otherwise they will be left behind by the development of the whole industry. However, most of the information is represented in English in the worldwide, which makes those who do not know English in a disadvantage position. Moreover, learning a foreign language is a process to understand another culture. That means students could broaden their horizons and enrich their experiences about life through intercultural communication.
Admittedly, talented students place a dominant position in foreign language learning than the ordinary peers. Gifts drive them toward higher performances and enhance their capacity to study in depth. With great aptitudes, it is the best to encourage the talented students to go for further study in second language. But we should also acknowledge that foreign language ought to be a basis skill for every student in modern civilization, regardless of talent criteria. As the language skill plays a vital part in personal competiveness.
On the basis of above factors, my conclusion is all students should be encouraged to learn a foreign language. At the same time, educational institutions have the obligation to offer opportunities to the talented students to pursue their natural strength.
