The Hunters lived in Chicago.They had a new housekeeper．Ｓhe wasn’t very bright,but she was an excellent cook.So the Hunters didn’t care whether she was smart or not.
One night at dinner time the telephone rang ,and the new housekeeper hurried to answer.She listened and said,“It certainly is ”and hung up.
A few seconds later the phone rang again.The new housekeeper answered it,listened ,laughed ,said,“It certainly is!” and hung up again.
“For goodness’sake,” shouted Mr Hunter.“What’s going on?”
“Nothing,” answered the new housekeeper.“Some jokerkeeps calling up just to say ‘It’s long distance from Now York.’”
