The two graphs provide us some interesting data regarding the general information of electricity consumption in england.Firstly,the curve chart illustrates the typical daily demand for electricity in england;and the pie graph vividly depicts how an average English family uses electricity.
First of all,we can say that families use much more electricity in winter than in summer,and the winter curve fluctuates more wildly than the summer curve,which is depicted apparently in the first chart.That's because plenty of electricity is used for heating room and water.The pie chart shows that this part is a bit more than half of the overall consumption of electricity,with 52.5%.
Second of all,let's step forward.We can see the winter curve and summer curve are both have two peaks.The first peak of winter curve appears around 3 o'clock.This peak is about 40,000 units high.As for the first peak of summer curve,it comes a bit earlier than 15 o'clock.This peak is a little more than 20,000 units' high.The second peaks of winter and summer curves both appear one after another somewhere between 21 and 24.The second peak ,for winter curve,is also the maximum of about 45,000 units.But during summer times,the peak is only about 20,000 units.
Thirdly,let's see what the electricity is used for.Despite the heating uses a bit more than half of the gross,there still are many other activities we can do to consume that much electricity.We divide the rest into three parts:the first part regarding the electricity used in the kitchen(ovens,kettles,washing machines,etc.) is 17.5%; the second part and the third part take the same proportion respectively--15%,but they stand for different uses--one is used for lighting,tv and radio,another is for other activities,such as vacuuming and mixing food.
