Is elasticity an important factor for a museum's price policy?
You are the curator of a museum. The museum is running short of funds, so you decide to increase revenue. Should you increase or decrease the price of admission? What information would you need to make a decision?
2 Traffic chaos as holiday begins
A new policy to scrap highway toll fees during major holidays boosted the number of domestic tourists and saved money.

The policy is intended to ensure smooth traffic flows during the holidays, reduce travel costs to the public and offset rising fuel prices.

Traffic experts estimate the new policy means 10 billion yuan in highway fees will be saved by the public during the eight-day Golden Week holiday, according to Xinhua News Agency.

Although it was expected the toll-free policy will encourage domestic tourism, there were concerns that it would lead to traffic congestion and overcrowding at popular scenic areas.

There were 43.3 million private cars in China in 2011, up 25.5 percent from the previous year.

Millions of people in China have been stranded in traffic jams all over the country after the government suspended motorway tolls to allow cheap travel on the first day of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

One man stuck in traffic told the Shanghai Morning Post that it took him over 10 hours to travel the 190 miles (300km) between Shanghai and Nanjing.

Drivers and passengers get out of their vehicles as they wait for a traffic jam blamed on a road accident to clear on an expressway in north China's Tianjin City.

The number of travelers using highways nationwide totaled 85 million by yesterday evening, up 13.3 percent year on year, the Ministry of Transport said.
