Pls find below points discussed during the vicon today.Appreciate your help to follow up on the respective action items.
Ningbo mills' bulk target is 3.2 - 3.4 (minimum is 3.0).This is necessary to produce GC2 high bulk board for European market.
Ningbo mills' freeness target is 325.Range of 300-350 is acceptable.
Option #1 - produce 350-75-60 mix grade,which is 10% more SW than IKS's 350-75-70 grade.However,end user is concerned with formation if more SW is used.
Option #2 - produce 350-75-70 mix grade (same as IKS's grade) with lower breaking length to 1600,thereby increasing bulkiness.
Meadow Lake will run production of IKS's 350-75-70 grade for 15,000 MT in mid May'11 and handpick 1,000 MT best bulk of out the production for Ningbo's consideration.
Meadow Lake will run trial production of 350-75-70 grade as per option #2 mentioned above and prepare 5kg sample bag each for NBAPP and NB Zhonghua.
Kevin Christian will provide the addresse of the 2 bags x 5kg sample.
Ningbo team and Meadow Lake team will review and reconvene after there is feedback on the product samples in early Jun'11.Just to reiterate,the objective of this brainstorming session is to produce a mix grade that is mutually beneficial for (1) Ningbo to produce GC2 high bulk,(2) Meadow Lake to increase production efficiency and reduce cost.
