At present an increasing number of teenagers are taking part in TV talent show. About which students' opinions are divided.
Some believe it is a good development of personal experiences and step to build own value and confidence. However, I do not agree with it.
If you watch carefully, most teenagers are following the existing stars. They try to mimic the dress, style and tones of the known stars, without own identity and innovation. Some even get indulged in the day-dream to become the "star" against big living pressures and time with their friends and families. For such unrealistic dreams, many paid too much attention on the "dream“ while wasted the precious time which should have been spent on studies.
As a consequence, even there is 1 or 2 successful talents selected, most others failed and lost their identity, time as well as confidence for future.
Therefore I am against such commercials.

At present an increasing number of teenagers are taking part in TV talent show. About which students' opinions are divided.
Some think it is a waste of time and encouraged students on unrealistic dreams. However, I think it is a good progress.
None of us is an island. The modern society needs not only scientist, doctors, engineers but also artists, shop attendants, and technicians. In developed countries, not all people go to university. Why we cannot allow students who are really talented and interested in singing, dancing, and arts, to demonstrate where they are gifted. Maybe we lose a few engineers but we will have more "Mei Lanfang" or "Monae". Even when some students failed, it will only harden them - either forget unrealistic dreams, or be more confident to make a 2nd try.
There are many ways to success. Study is just one of it.
I am supporting more and more of this kind of programs.
