My View on Entrance Examination to College Nearly millions of Chinese students undergo a fierce competition of the entrance examination to College every year.After that,some of them get an offer of a college while others don’t.Usually we take for granted that those with low grades who couldn’t attend school are useless and stupid failures.Is it right to judge a teenage only by academic scores?From my point of view,because of this exam,our high school education becomes terribly narrow.We must annul it and restructure our educational system for the development of our country.The first reason to cancel it is that all the senior high schools educators in China care nothing but the enrollment rate to Universities and dedicate themselves to create a Resinic Lamp.What is education?As Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote,the main part of intellectual education is not the acquisition of facts but learning how to make facts live.I think high school teachers should inculcate the class with ideas of a matter of attitude and perception towards life,guide them to be aware that how much there is to learn and how much they don’t yet know,lead the children to pick a difficult thing and solve it through teamwork or all by themselves.There are so many things can be taught not just push them to memorize all kinds of formulas,articles and facts.It is more important to let them find the wonders of math,art,literature and other majors.The greatest Popular Science Writers Carl Sagan said:It seems to me there are many things that the schools should teach---things that truly would be useful in later life,useful in making a stronger country and a better world,but useful also in making people happier.Secondly,this exam brings thousands of students horrible nightmares to go through.It totally destroys the youth’s precious years.Without it,they can have plenty of time to dig deeply enough about majors they really interested in.And also teachers can take them out to the nature to let their students learn more about our people,our society,cultural as well as our planet.More profound knowledge can be vividly planted in their heads.By opening the teen’s mind,many will be a useful person to the world.But we can easily find that kids berried their heads in books but their heart are far far away from what they are learning.As you all know,the main psychological problems of the students in teaching appear to be the reverse psychology and school-weary psychology.What caused it?The College Entrance Examination.In a word,the Entrance Examination is an invisible killer.To judge a student is qualified or not to enter a University,we must judge he or she through all the years of performing in all different aspects.Everyone is different and unique,why should they take the same examination?
