Hello.This is XXX,the exchange student who is chosen by you.
I was presantly surprised and thankful when I was told a family from XXX invited me to join them for 10 months.Because XXX is famous in world of its beautiful scenery,thousands of people want to visit this fantastic place.So I had never dreamt of visiting here as an exchange student,and it makes me quite excited about the unusal trip.Thank you so much for giving me this wonderful chance!
Incidently,may I take a pleasure in spending some of your free time to have a call with you?In order to know better of each other.If I could,when is the best time that is able to overcome the time difference and be suitable to both of us?

I was so excited at the news that I was invited to join the family of yours in XXX. It is so kind of you and I am so grateful to you! I am sure we will have a pleasant and harmonious stay.

For purpose of getting to know each other better, I would take the liberty to ask what your preferred means of communication is so that we could communicate at such time convenient to both of us. Due to time difference, I would suggest that we communicate at 08:00 ~ 10:00 hours and/or 20:00 ~ 22:00 hours.
