在当今的世界,由于科学技术的飞速发展,不同地域、不同国家、不同民族之间的交流越来越频繁.要想能够很好的交流,首先就要有共同的语言.语言是人类用来表达的最为有效的工具,语言不通几乎就没有办法进行复杂的交流,人类现在的进化程度还不能使人们用脑电波来直接进行思想的交流.然而,即使是有了共同的语言,来自不同文化背景的人也并不一定能够相互理解对方,语言并不是相互交流的最大障碍,文化上的差异才是横在两个不同民族之间的难以逾越的鸿沟.
不同的文化背景使得在两种不同文化中成长起来的人对于同一件事物会有着截然不同的理解,举个很简单的例子：在西方国家,如果客人送给主人一件礼物,主人应当立刻当着客人的面打开礼物,并表示很喜欢客人所送的礼物；而在东方国家恰恰相反,主人必须要在客人走后才能拆看客人送的礼物,否则是很没有礼貌的.而这样的文化差异经常会使来自不同文化的人之间产生一些误会,这就是为什么许多移民能够说一口流利的当地语言,但却不能很好的融入当地的生活.尽管墨西哥于美国南部接壤,长期以来一直受到美国文化的强烈影响,很多墨西哥人都精通英语,但两个民族之间的内在差异还是没有消除.其实即使是文化相近的欧洲各国家之间也存在着很大的文化差异,日耳曼人、高卢人、凯而特人、斯拉夫人在对待同一件事时都会有着不同的态度.人们常常将语言翻译当作是说两种语言的人之间交流的桥梁,其实,有时候人们更加需要“文化翻译”.

In today's world,due to the rapid development of science and technology,different regions,different countries,different ethnic groups increasingly frequent exchanges between.To be good exchanges,we must first have a common language.Human language is used to express the most effective tools,language barrier almost no way for the exchange of complex,the evolution of mankind,which is not yet now people can use brain waves to direct thinking of the exchange.However,even a common language,come from different cultural backgrounds were not necessarily able to understand each other,exchange language is not the biggest obstacle is cultural differences in the two different national cross between an insurmountable gap.
Different cultural backgrounds makes the two different cultures of people grow up with a completely different things would have understood,give a very simple example:In Western countries,if the owner gave the guests a gift,the owner should immediately open in front of guests of gifts,and said he likes the guests send a gift; In eastern countries contrary,the owner must look at the guests left before demolition guests send a gift,or is not polite.While such cultural differences often make the people from different cultures between some misunderstanding,which is why many immigrants can say is fluent in local languages,but not well integrated into local life.Although the southern border of Mexico to the United States,has long been the strong influence of American culture,many Mexicans are proficient in English,but between the two nations is the inherent differences has not been eliminated.In fact,even the cultural similarities between the various European countries there are considerable cultural differences,Germanic people Gauls,Kay and special people,Slavs in dealing with the same thing,we will have a different attitude.People often will say language translation as the two languages as a bridge between the exchanges,in fact,sometimes people need more "cultural translation."
