at the end 要与of 连用表示什么什么的末尾如at the end of this month ,at the end of the story .in the end 本身就是个副词词组,相当于at last .
还有by the end of ,意思是到什么时候为止,通常接句子用完成时态.如：By the end of the year,we will have learnt 10000 words .By the end of 1990,they had owned five factories .
finally 通常用 eventually,at last 代替
