1.Introduction
Brilliant paint company is a Singaporean ships paint manufacturer,this is one by three has received western education of young people to create the rapid growth of the company.Tan--the sales manager who has been make a highest record of sales overseas,most of which paint pin to Australia and New Zealand.To achieve this goal,Tan manager first to send seven information to some potential customers,and at the same time issued the appointment letter and then met with every one company in the office.Later,Tan selected the best company,negotiation with them,and reach a distribution agreement.The whole process spent roughly four months ,the amount of the sales volume over than expected.
According the success experience in Australia and New Zealand,the company decided to open up the market in Pacific rim.After investigation,the company think China Taiwan is one of the important target market,high demand,less market competition is the most importance reason that they choose.The company decided to set up a point of local distribution,and the same way of adopt and open up Australia and New Zealand market to sell products.The company has collected many contract information for Taiwan paint importers,agents,representative offices and wholesalers,then send out product information and leaflets to these units,including agent matters which they agreed to discuss as possible.However ,six week later,there ars no reply.At first,the company think that is the language problems,Taiwanese maybe could not adapt to English letters,so the company sent the second batch email in Chinese.Two months pass again,still not distributors response it.
What problem does Taiwan's distributors not give reply?
Cultural communication with different countries in the trade is more obvious,and in this case is a reflection.In some western countries,the business more equal,more casual communication with both parties.But in traditional culture of Confucianism dominated east Asia region,using this way of sale is it won't work.This will let buyers think is no "face",they want to set up a special relationship may like to talk about business face to face,not through the email since they decided to buy goods.
