1 As we all know,smoking is not only harmful to the smokers,but also to non-smokers around them.But the problem is why there are still so many smokers?In my opinion,several reasons listed below can account it.When some smokers were young,they saw their parents smoking.Curious about it,they began to imitate them.Then,they found it just so-so,but it is very difficult to quit it.Other minors think that smoking is a kind of fashion,standing on the street while smoking is as cool as a punk.There are also quite a lot of literators or artists who usually need full spirits to create new works at midnight.Tobacco maybe is the best way can help them.Besides,workers’ lying off their stress and social intercourse are also included in the main reasons.
2 You can always tell an addict from the stale smell of tobacco clinging to his or her clothes.However,here are many stronger reasons why people should not smoke.First,smoking can lead to many serious diseases such as heart attack,hypertension and lung cancer,which are difficult to treat.Second,the bad habit not only does harm to the smokers themselves but also endangers people around them.Third,the smelly fume also impacts on the public environment.In addition,tobaccos spending cause smokers’ wasting on money.
3 In my opinion,the government has responsibility to help addicts quit smoking.They should publicize more knowledge about the harm of smoking to citizens while decreeing new bans to limit public smoking.And then,drugs such as nicotine patches and Zyban can help smokers get rid of smoking.Besides,smokers are still going to need lots of willpower and self-continence to keep trying.
