这俩句话里都有soon这个词,这里的第一句话的谓语是was,第二句话的谓语是learnt
我想问：为什么第一个soon在谓语之后,第二个soon在谓语之前?

因为第一个是系表结构,was 并不是单独做谓语的,如果只是它一个词,是没有具体意义的,所以副词通常是用来修饰有具体意义的动词才放在动词前面的,第二句话learnt是有具体意义的动词,所以放在learnt前面,就比如说:
he is always complaining about his neighbour.
he often complains about his mother.
跟这两句话的always 跟often放置的位置的意义是一样的.只不过原句中把complaining换成了out of breath而已
