Play the song“ You and me ”to the Ss and ask them two questions:

The success of the host of the Olympic Games shocked the world and it shows that we Chinese are great. Today, we’ll talk about the Olympic Games.

师生互动:教师展示一些奥运会相关的图片:会旗、会徽、吉祥物、奥运会口号,夏季奥运会、冬季奥运会、下届奥运会及时间等,提出一些问题如:
1. How often do we hold the Olympic Games?
2. What do the Olympic rings mean?
3. What does the emblem for the Beijing Olympic Games stand for?
4. Name the 2008 Beijing Olympic Mascots and meanings.
5. What is the Olympic motto?
6. Who was China’s first gold medal winner and for what event? etc.
通过有关奥运图片,要求学生说出与奥运有关的英文单词并简要提及将来时态被动语态.了解学生对奥运会的熟悉程度,让学生感受奥运和体育文化.在活动过程中,教师适时教授新词汇,激发学生的求知欲望.
Step3 Speaking
1. 师生互动:看图片了解奥运会比赛项目
(1) Who is the competitor (竞争者, 运动员) ?
(2) What kind of event did they take part in?
2.同桌互动:通过两人一组的对话练习表达自己的运动兴趣爱好
