The principle seems right on playgrounds and at bus stops. But the morals of the queue do not govern all occasions. If I put my house up for sale, I have no duty to accept the first offer that comes along, simply because it’s the first. Selling my house and waiting for a bus are different activities, properly governed by different standards.

该原则在游戏场所以及公交车站看上去是正确的.但是这种‘先来后到’的品行标准并不适用于所有场合.假如我想出售我的房子,我没有义务必须接受第一个人的出价——仅仅因为他最先来看房子.卖房子和等公交车完全是两码子事,因此适用于它们的标准也是不同的.
