2.择出句子的主干应该是：There ought to be less anxiety over ...than (the anxiety)exists in the public mind today ,这样补充进来就好理解了
3.这里的whom is known as a"bellyacher 是句子的表语从句,用宾格形式,不用who,其他的你应该知道排除,因为是指人
4.这里用would like to 表示想做,翻译来 就是Much as I would have liked to 【I would like to borrow very much ...】我本来很想（借的）
