d. Fare validator unit

Each feeder vehicle shall be fitted with 1 fare validator unit. Each customer will validate their
smart card upon entering the vehicle.

The fare validator unit shall be located near the driver across from the front door of the vehicle.

card.

The fare validator unit shall be at an appropriate height so that a passenger in a wheelchair can
easily reach the unit.

The Supplier shall provide the base support and placement pad for the fare validator unit. The
Supplier shall provide the electrical connection to the fare validator. The Supplier shall also
accommodate the cabling between the fare validator unit and the VLU.

There shall be no fare validator at the second door of the vehicle. Passengers will only enter this
door at closed stations in which pre-board fare verification has taken place, so no further
verification inside the vehicle is required.
