Among all the changes resulting from the massive entry of women into the work force, the transformation that has occurred in the women themselves is not the least important. They see themselves in a new light, for they have discovered that they can just do as well as men in any profession. Some of them have gone to the top: the chief economist of General Motors is a woman, and so is the president of the great filmmaking company 20th Century Fox. Such successes have given women pride and self confidence. Of course, the picture is not perfect.
