Where to put the Characteristics values in ProductDear PP Gurus,I make a configurable material (class type 200) or make a variant (class type 300) with some characteristics in the class, say T (Thickness), G (Grade), W (Width) and Length (L).When I make the production order for this material, where can I fill the desired values for these characteristics in the production order? It asks for a sales order assignment, but I may not want to assign a sales order at that time, it may be make to stock. Which class 200/300 to be used for MTO+MTS? Where to put the characteristics values in the production order then? Please help...Sonia

Sonia,The class types 200 and 300 are used for variant cofig, which you already know. Now for the characterisitcs to be displayed in the production order you will need to create a sales order, this is really used in a make to order environment.You might be able to create a new requirements class that doesn't look for a sales order, and possibly a new planning strategy.Hope that helps Paul
