Today, I want to say something about the HAM.
Most people may think that the ham that I say today is for eating. But in the field of radio, HAM is short for the radio amateur. Today, ham communication already becomes an international activity, and there are many competition about it. When disasters come, as one kind of means of communication, radio can play important role with its special advantage in grave disasters when other means of communication become invalid.
Look at these photos. This is the radio data centre that sets up after an earthquake in Wen Chuan. This is a scene that one ham is receiving radio signals in strained.
In our country, amateur radio has already developed 50 years since 1958. In 1958, China has the first amateur radio station BY1PK for participating in the international radio friendly competition. It has also filled in the blank that there wasn’t Chinese radio station in amateur frequency channel. Now, the radio station is set up in the People radio club of China near the Tiantan Park.
This is the scene of competition, this is the QSL card that China and Soviet Union exchanged in that year, these are the QSL card now.
The technology develop rapidly now, and it’s much easier to finish the earth moon earth communication. We can analyses the electric wave by using a complicated software.
There are the air wires for the EME test, this HAM was communicating on line, this is the software they used.
