炎武之学,大抵主于敛华就实.凡国家典制、郡邑掌故、天文仪象、河漕兵农之属,莫不穷原究委,考正得失,撰天下郡国利病书百二十卷；别有肇域志一编,则考索之馀,合图经而成者.精韵学,撰音论三卷,又广交贤豪长者,虚怀商榷,不自满假.
