英语翻译
Qian Guichuan is a Chinese teacher at Yanjiang No.l Middle School in Sichuan
Province. He started to teach Chinese more than 30 years ago.But this week,he found
he couldn't understand his students’ holiday diaries when they came back from the summer holiday.
"Some of these words don't mean anything",the old teacher said."This is not
Chinese at all!"
But Qian's idea of Chinese and his students’ ideas of Chinese aren't the same.He
didn't understand the words because they are a part of kids’ new Internet language.
What language is this?Wang Yuan is one of Qian's new students. In her summer
diary,the 14-year-old girl wrote,"Today I met a big shrimp (da xia),and he helped me
a lot with Internet safety." No,Wang did not meet a delicious animal from the sea.In
her Internet language,"da xia" means "computer expert(咆脑高手)".
Over the holidays,Wang often talked with friends on the Internet. When talking, they used words like "shrimp","frog" (an ugly boy) and "8147" (Buyaoshengqi:Don't get angry) .
"Everyone on the Internet is talking like this, and I couldn't help using it in my writing," Wang said.
Like Wang, many students are using Internet language more.
They use Chinese characters(汉字),numbers, pinyin or signs in the language.
They use it among friends,in their talk,in their diaries or even in their homework.
"Using these kinds of words is new and easy and makes us laugh," said Zhu Jing,a boy who often talked on the Internet when he was a student at Hefei No.48 Middle School.
Use it carefully.Teachers and parents worry that this new language will give students bad habits. They may not be able to speak good Chinese if they often use words from the Internet in their everyday lives.
"Students can't learn good Chinese if they use too much Internet language," said Qian.
But some others think it's OK.Yang Zhiying,a teacher at the Experimental Middle School affiliated with Beijing Normal University (地京师范大学附属试验中学),thinks kids can still use it.
"It is one way of talking. But kids must know that they can't use it all the time like in their homework," Yang said.
